Annual LTI Closing Ceremony

On May 9th, 2009, LTI hosted its annual closing ceremony at MIT's Stata Center. The closing ceremony featured a wide variety of final projects. This year's projects featured an English education program for immigrants, a graffiti removal initiative, an awareness day for Invisible Children, a recycling competition, and a suicide prevention buddy program. Certificates and awards were presented to our 2009 LTI Spring graduates.

HSSP Summer Program

Every summer, LTI runs a condensed version of the spring curriculum for middle school students in the Boston area. We are currently accepting HSSP mentor applications from our 2008 and 2009 alumni. Decisions will be sent out June 22, 2009.

Partnering with China Development Initiative's Service Leadership Program

The curriculum for CDI's Service Leadership Program in Shenzhen, China this August is starting to take shape. The service leadership program focuses on developing a leadership program in the area of international development for migrant workers.

Summer Goals

During the summer of 2009, LTI is reorganizing the executive board, building contacts, and starting student recruitment for the Spring 2009 Program.

i-LTI

Due to earlier health precautions, LTI's summer expansion trip to Casa Telmex locations in Mexico was postoned until the 2009-2010 school year. However, the expansion comittee is currently working on maintaining and acquiring additional contacts for future expansion projects in Brazil, Mexico, China, and El Salvador.
