LTI's First Activities Midway

At the end of the 2013 Class Orientation, LTI kicked off its 2009 recruitment season with its first official ASA-recognized appearance at the Activities Midway. The LTI booth featured an official banner, picture slide-show, snacks, information cards, and official LTI draw-string bags.

LTI Curriculum and Expansion

Former LTI Alum '08, Andrew Ha is in the process of establishing an LTI chapter at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is currently working with LTI Directors to recruit a founding chapter at his university.

LTI Executive Board and Curriculum team is currently modifying the curriculum for a intensive two-week trip to Brazil in January 2010. LTI Expansion is currently translating the LTI curriculum into Spanish.

Curriculum Chair David Zou has revamped the LTI curriculum based on surveys and comments from the 2009 Spring LTI Session, 2009 HSSP Session, and 2009 CDI-SLP Program. The revised curriculum is based on weekly themes organized by specific mentors. Mentor Development Chair Tina Stutzman is currently preparing a mini-version of the LTI curriculum for the upcoming Mentor Training sessions to build character, communication skills, and group bonding.

The Finance committee is hosting flower and cookies sales in Lobby 10 to raise additional funds for the anticipated expansion an traveling expenses.

LTI Mentor, Executive Board, and Student Recruitment

The 2009-2010 Recruitment process is kicking off in full swing! On Wednesday, September 24th 2009, LTI hosted its annual recruitment info session. This year's info session hosted a record number of attendees! The session featured a summary of the structure, mission, and accomplishments of the group to date. Official LTI merchandise was also distributed as prizes for correctly answering questions on LTI's version of Jeopardy.

LTI is currently accepting applications for Mentor and Executive Member recruitment. Interviews are scheduled to be held in October. Student recruitment is scheduled to begin in October with a November application deadline.

As LTI ventures into its' third year, Director Amanda Mok has created an Executive Summary Report, detailing LTI's progress, structure, and history. As national and international expansion progresses, the directors have established guidelines for expansion and an LTI Board of Trustees to aid in the establishment of additional LTI Chapters and related programs
